This project demonstrates an MCP server using ActionKit. Connect this server to your Claude Desktop to access all Slack operations of ActionKit.

This repository showcases an MCP server powered by ActionKit. By connecting this server to your Claude Desktop, you can access all Slack operations provided by ActionKit. In this example, we assume that the user has completed authentication through the Paragon Connect Portal. For demonstration purposes, Slack operations are filtered in the index.ts file, but this filter can be removed as needed.

📦 Installation

1. First, install Claude Desktop.
2. Clone this repository and run npm install.
3. Then, run npm run build to build a JavaScript file for Claude Desktop.
4. Point Claude Desktop to our MCP server:
   • Create or edit the Claude configuration file using a text editor. For example, use the command: vi ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json.
   • Paste the following configuration into the claude_desktop_config.json file:

- Fill in your environment variables with your Paragon credentials.
- For the `USER` environment variable, this corresponds to the current user logged in through the Paragon Connect Portal.
    - Use [demo.useparagon.com](https://demo.useparagon.com) to quickly log in and **verify your Slack identity** (this is a necessary step for using Slack tools).
- Note: The ABSOLUTE_PATH can be found by pressing `<CMD>` and clicking on the file in the Mac's `Finder`.

5. Open Claude Desktop. You should see a hammer icon with a list of Slack tools.
   • Additionally, verify that your application is connected to our MCP at the plug icon.
