This project runs a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that encapsulates the CodeQL query server. It enables tools (such as Cursor or AI agents) to interact with CodeQL through structured commands and document searches.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

You can install the required dependencies using either uv or pip:

Using uv

uv pip install -r requirements.txt

Using pip

pip install fastmcp httpx

💻 Usage Examples

Running the MCP Server

uv run mcp run server.py -t sse

• The server will start at http://localhost:8000/sse.
• It is suitable for use with Cursor or AI agents.

Cursor Configuration

Ensure your .cursor/config.json contains the following:

⚠️ Important Note

• Tools like Cursor will directly call these commands through natural language.
• You must have a codeql executable in your PATH or hard - code its path in codeqlclient.py.
• You may need to specify the query location, where to write the query, and the database path in the prompt.
