Db Timetable MCP

🚀 German Railways (DB) Timetable MCP Server

This is a Node.js-based MCP server designed to handle the timetable data of German Railways (Deutsche Bahn, DB). The project aims to provide developers with an interface to access and query real-time and scheduled train information of DB.

🚀 Quick Start

Installation Requirements

• Node.js Version: 18 or higher
• German Railways API Credentials: Client ID and secret are required for authentication

Installation Steps

1. Clone the project repository to your local machine:

   git clone <repository-url>
   

2. Navigate to the project directory:

   cd db-mcp
   

3. Install the dependencies:

   npm install
   

4. Build the TypeScript code:

   npm run build
   

Configuration

Create a .env file containing the following environment variables:

CLIENT_ID=your_client_id_here
CLIENT_SECRET=your_client_secret_here
PORT=3000

These details are used for authentication and connecting to the DB timetable API.

Starting the Server

You can start the server using the following npm script:

npm start

By default, the server will run on the process.env.PORT port (default is 3000).

Development Mode

In development mode, the server will automatically reload in response to code changes:

npm run dev

   • Parameter: {evaNo} (Station number)
2. Get Recent Changes:
   • Endpoint: db-api:timetable/changes/{evaNo}
   • Parameter: {evaNo} (Station number)
3. Get Planned Timetable:
   • Endpoint: db-api:timetable/planned/{evaNo}/{date}/{hour}
   • Parameters: {evaNo} (Station number), {date} (Date), {hour} (Hour)
4. Station Search:
   • Endpoint: db-api:station/{pattern}
   • Parameter: {pattern} (Search keyword)
