Tools

• create_devin_session - Create a new Devin session and post it to Slack.
  • Post tasks to a specified Slack channel with an @Devin mention.
  • Return session details and Slack message information.
• send_message_to_session - Send a message to a Devin session, optionally associating it with a Slack thread.
  • When a Slack thread is provided, the message can be posted in the thread simultaneously.
• get_devin_session - Get session details, optionally with Slack message history.
• list_devin_sessions - List all Devin sessions.
• get_organization_info - Get your Devin organization information.

Install Dependencies

pnpm install

Build the Server

pnpm run build

Development with Automatic Rebuild

pnpm run watch

Configuration

Configure the server through the MCP server configuration file. Add the following to your configuration:

Required Environment Variables

The following environment variables must be set in the env section:

• DEVIN_API_KEY: Your Devin API key.
• DEVIN_ORG_NAME: (Optional) Your organization name, defaulting to "Default Organization".
• DEVIN_BASE_URL: (Optional) The base URL of the Devin API, defaulting to "https://api.devin.ai/v1".
• SLACK_BOT_TOKEN: Your Slack bot user OAuth token (starting with xoxb-).
• SLACK_DEFAULT_CHANNEL: The default Slack channel to post messages to. You can use either:
  • The channel ID (e.g., C123ABC456).
  • The channel name (e.g., general or #general).

Installation with Claude Desktop

To use it with Claude Desktop, add the server to your configuration:

Debugging

Since the MCP server communicates via stdio, debugging can be challenging. We recommend using MCP Inspector, which can be obtained through the package script:

pnpm run inspector

The Inspector will provide a URL to access the debugging tools. Open it in your browser.
