A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides browser automation capabilities using Playwright and supports the Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP). This server enables LLMs to interact with web pages in a real browser environment, take screenshots, and execute JavaScript in the browser context. It also supports connecting to a running Chrome instance via CDP.

This project is a forked version of executeautomation/mcp-playwright v0.2.7, with enhanced functionality to connect to a running Chrome instance via CDP.

📦 Installation

You can install it using either npm or Smithery:

🔧 Technical Details

This fork adds the ability to connect to a running Chrome instance via CDP. Here's how to use it:

1. Start Chrome and enable remote debugging:

/Applications/Google\ Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\ Chrome --remote-debugging-port=9222

2. The server will automatically attempt to connect to the running Chrome instance first and then start a new browser.
