📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Python 3.12
• pip package manager

Installation Steps

1. Clone the project

git clone https://github.com/lifejwang11/alphavantage-mcp
cd alphavantage-mcp

2. Create and activate a virtual environment (recommended)

python -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate  # Unix/macOS
# Or
.\venv\Scripts\activate  # Windows

3. Install dependencies

pip install -r requirements.txt

4. Configure environment variables

export ALPHAVANTAGE_API_KEY=your_api_key

5. Start the server

python main.py

Basic Usage

1. Obtain an AlphaVantage API key
   • Visit the AlphaVantage website
   • Register and get an API key
2. Configure the API key
   • Set ALPHAVANTAGE_API_KEY in the environment variables
   • Or configure it in the configuration file
3. Service call
   • Call through the MCP protocol
   • Refer to the API documentation for detailed interface specifications

💡 Usage Tip

It is recommended to use a high-level API key in a production environment to get a higher rate limit. Securely handle the API key and do not expose it in public code.
