📦 Installation

Method 1: Install via npm

1. Open the Command Prompt or PowerShell.
2. Run the following command:

   npm install outlook-calendar-mcp-tool --save
   

3. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Method 2: Manual Installation

1. Download the tool's compressed package.
2. Extract the files to a specified directory.
3. In the Command Prompt or PowerShell, run:

   cd <Extraction Directory>
   npm start
   

📚 Documentation

Prerequisites

• Windows operating system
• Microsoft Outlook installed and running
• Node.js (recommended version 14.0 or higher)
• npm (recommended version 6.0 or higher)

Configuration

Step 1: Allow Script Access to Outlook

1. Open Outlook.
2. Click "File" > "Options" > "Trust Center" > "Macro Settings" in the menu bar.
3. Check "Enable all macros" and click "OK".

Step 2: Configure Environment Variables

Add the following variables to the system environment:

• Variable Name: OUTLOOK_PROFILE
• Variable Value: The path to your Outlook profile (e.g., C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook)

Usage Instructions

Command List

• list-events [calendarName]: List all events in the specified calendar.
• add-event <eventTitle>: Add a new calendar event.
• update-event <eventId> <newTitle>: Update the title of an existing event.
• delete-event <eventId>: Delete the specified event.
• get-calendar-info: Get information about all available calendars.

🔧 Technical Details

Security Tips

• When using the tool for the first time, Outlook may display a security prompt to allow script access.
• The tool only accesses your local Outlook client and does not send calendar data to external servers.
• All calendar operations are performed locally on your computer.

Troubleshooting

• Outlook Security Prompt: If you see a security prompt, allow the script to access your Outlook data.
• Script Execution Policy: If you encounter script execution errors, you may need to adjust the PowerShell execution policy.
• Path Issues: Ensure that the environment variables are configured correctly.
