🚀 Integration of Claude Desktop and API via MCP

This project offers an MCP server implementation that enables seamless integration between Claude Desktop and Claude API. It allows you to bypass the Pro version restrictions and access advanced features such as custom system prompts and conversation management.

🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Ensure you have Python installed on your system.
• You need an API key from Anthropic.

Installation Steps

1. Clone the repository

   # Using VS Code:
   # 1. Press Cmd + Shift + P
   # 2. Type "Git: Clone"
   # 3. Paste: https://github.com/mlobo2012/Claude_Desktop_API_USE_VIA_MCP.git
   
   # Or using the terminal:
   git clone https://github.com/mlobo2012/Claude_Desktop_API_USE_VIA_MCP.git
   cd Claude_Desktop_API_USE_VIA_MCP
   

2. Install dependencies

   pip install -r requirements.txt
   

3. Configure the environment

   # Copy the environment template
   cp .env.example .env
   
   # Edit .env and add your API key
   ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=your_api_key_here
   

4. Configure Claude Desktop

   • macOS: Navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/

     # Using Finder:
     # 1. Press Cmd + Shift + G
     # 2. Type: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/
     

   • Windows: Navigate to %APPDATA%\Claude\
   • Create or edit claude_desktop_config.json
   • Copy the contents from config/claude_desktop_config.json
   • Update the paths and API key.

Usage Guide

Basic Usage

1. Regular Claude Desktop Usage

   • Simply chat with Claude as usual.
   • By default, the Pro version is used.
   • No special commands are needed.

2. API Usage

   @claude-api Please answer via API: What is the capital of France?
   

Advanced Usage

1. System Prompt Support

   # Example configuration:
   system_prompt = "You are a friendly and helpful assistant."
   

2. Conversation History Management

   • View and manage previous conversation records through log files.
