🚀 Ghost MCP Server

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server integrated with the Ghost Admin Console API. This server allows you to programmatically access Ghost CMS features, including post management, page management, member management, etc.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Node.js (Recommended version v18 or higher)
• A Ghost CMS instance
• A Ghost Admin API key

Install the package using npm:

npm install @mtane0412/ghost-mcp-server

🛠️ Configuration

1. Create a new custom integration in your Ghost Admin Console dashboard, located at Settings > Integrations.

2. Set the following environment variables:

# macOS/Linux
export GHOST_URL="https://your-ghost-blog.com"
export GHOST_ADMIN_API_KEY="your_admin_api_key"

# Windows (PowerShell)
$env:GHOST_URL="https://your-ghost-blog.com"
$env:GHOST_ADMIN_API_KEY="your_admin_api_key"

Alternatively, create a .env file:

GHOST_URL=https://your-ghost-blog.com
GHOST_ADMIN_API_KEY=your_admin_api_key

Basic Usage

After installation, start the server:

npx @mtane0412/ghost-mcp-server

Available Tools

get_posts

Get a list of posts.

Input:

get_pages

Get a list of pages.

🐞 Debugging

Since the MCP server communicates via standard input and output, debugging can be challenging. We recommend using the MCP Inspector, which is provided as a package script:

npm run inspect

The inspector will provide a URL in your browser to access the debugging tools.
