This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server designed to interact with YouTube videos. It offers features such as extracting video metadata and subtitles, converting them into Markdown format, and presenting them using various templates.

📦 Prerequisites

• Node.js (v16 or higher)
• npm or yarn
• YouTube Data API key and/or OAuth2 credentials

📦 Installation

1. Clone the repository:

git clone [Repository URL]
cd youtube-mcp

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Build the project:

npm run build

Configuration

Create a .env file in the root directory and add your YouTube credentials:

OAuth2 Setup

To configure OAuth2, follow these steps:

1. Create a project in the Google Cloud Console and enable the YouTube API.
2. Create an OAuth2 client ID and obtain the CLIENT_ID and CLIENT_SECRET.
3. Replace PROJECT_NAME with your project name.

Custom Templates

To generate custom templates in the dist folder:

1. Create a templates folder in the root directory.
2. Place the required Markdown template files inside it.
