📦 Installation

Install the Plugin

The location of the FreeCAD Addon directory:

• Windows: %APPDATA%\FreeCAD\Mod\
• Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/FreeCAD/Mod/
• Linux: ~/.FreeCAD/Mod/ or ~/snap/freecad/common/Mod/ (if you installed FreeCAD from snap)

Please copy the addon/FreeCADMCP directory to the Addon directory.

cd freecad-mcp
cp -r addon/FreeCADMCP ~/.FreeCAD/Mod/

After installing the plugin, you need to restart FreeCAD. You can select "MCP Addon" from the "Workbench" list and use it.

Then start the RPC server in the "FreeCAD MCP" toolbar by using the "Start RPC Server" command.

Configure Claude Desktop

Edit the claude_desktop_config.json file.
