🚀 Environment Setup

First, let's install uv and set up our Python project and environment:

MacOS/Linux : curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh
Windows : powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.ps1 | iex"

After the installation is complete, please make sure to restart your terminal for the uv command to take effect.

Next, let's create and set up the project:

Running the Claude Desktop Application Locally

1. Ensure that you need to update claude_desktop_config.json to register the tool.

Location of claude_desktop_config.json:

Windows : code $env:AppData\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
Mac/Linux : code ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Debugging

Since the MCP server runs via stdio, debugging can be challenging. For the best debugging experience, we highly recommend using MCP Inspector.

You can start the MCP Inspector using the following command via npm:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector uv --directory C:\Users\Hp\Github-Oauth run github-oauth

After starting, the Inspector will display a URL in the browser where you can start debugging.
