Security Features

• Read - Only Access: The server only provides network information query functions and cannot perform any write operations.
• Whitelisted Commands: Only a predefined set of secure commands are allowed to run.
• User Permissions: All commands are executed with the current user's permissions, ensuring the same security level as ordinary CLI usage.

📦 Installation

• Operating System: Supports macOS, Linux (including the WSL environment on Windows).
• Go Language: Go 1.20 or higher is required.
• Tailscale CLI: Must be installed and directly executable in the terminal.

🔧 Technical Details

Server Not Displayed in Claude Desktop

1. Check if the path to the executable file specified in the configuration file is correct.
2. Confirm that the Tailscale CLI is installed and can be run in the terminal.
3. Check the log files for more information:
   • macOS: ~/Library/Logs/Claude/mcp*.log
   • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\logs\mcp*.log

Command Execution Failure

1. Ensure that the command is in the allowed whitelist.
2. Verify that Tailscale is correctly configured and connected.
3. Try to execute the same command directly using the Tailscale CLI to confirm its normal functionality.

Development Information

This server is built on the mcp - go library. To extend or modify it, follow these steps:

1. Clone the code repository.
2. Make the necessary changes.
3. Build the project using go build.
4. Test with Claude Desktop or other MCP clients.
