🚀 Gitingest-MCP

An MCP server for gitingest. This enables MCP clients such as Claude Desktop, Cline, and Cursor to quickly extract information from GitHub repositories, including:

• Repository summaries
• Project directory structures
• File contents

📦 Installation

Installation via Smithery

• To install gitingest-mcp via Smithery:

Installation via Github

1. Add the following content to the MCP client configuration file:

Manual Installation of the Repository

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://https://github.com/puravparab/Gitingest-MCP
cd Gitingest-MCP

2. Install dependencies:

uv sync

3. Add the following content to the MCP client configuration file:

4. Install dependencies:

pip install -r requirements.txt

5. Run the service:

uvicorn main:app --reload

Update MCP Client Configuration

1. Open your terminal.
2. Navigate to the root directory of the project:

cd /path/to/your/project

3. Run the following command to update the configuration:

🔧 Debugging

uvicorn main:app --reload

With these steps, you can easily install and configure Gitingest-MCP and start using it to extract and analyze information from GitHub repositories.
