An MCP server for the Rootly API that you can integrate into your favorite MCP-compatible editors like Cursor, Windsurf, and Claude. Resolve production incidents in under a minute without leaving your IDE.

🚀 Quick Start

✅ Prerequisites

• Python 3.12 or higher
• uv package manager. Install it using the following command:

curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh

• Rootly API Token

🚀 Running in Your IDE

Install via our PyPi package or clone this repository.

To set it up in your favorite MCP-compatible editor (we've tested Cursor and Windsurf), use the following configuration:

✨ Features

This server dynamically generates MCP resources based on Rootly's OpenAPI (Swagger) specification:

• Dynamically generate MCP tools according to Rootly's OpenAPI specification.
• Implement default pagination (10 items per page) to prevent context window overflow.
• Limit the number of API paths exposed to AI agents.

We limit the number of accessible paths for the following reasons:

• Context Size: Due to the rich paths in Rootly's API, AI agents may be overloaded and unable to perform simple operations correctly. Currently, we only expose the /incidents and /incidents/{incident_id}/alerts paths.
• Security: If you want to limit the types of information or operations that users can access through the MCP server.

If you want to make more paths available, edit the variable allowed_paths in src/rootly_mcp_server/server.py.
