An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for integrating with Warpcast, allowing you to interact with your Warpcast account using Claude.

This MCP server enables seamless interaction with your Warpcast account using Claude. Below are the steps to get it up and running.

📦 Installation

1. Clone this repository:

   git clone https://github.com/zhangzhongnan928/mcp-warpcast-server.git
   cd mcp-warpcast-server
   

2. Install dependencies:

   npm install
   

3. Generate API keys and configure authentication: The MCP server provides a helper script to generate the required Ed25519 key pair:

   npm run generate-keys
   

   Then, open the config.json file and add the following environment variables to the .env file:

   _fid=your_farcaster_id
   _public_key=your_public_key
   _private_key=your_private_key
   

4. Run the server:

   npm start

Basic Usage

After configuration, you can instruct Claude to perform the following actions:

• "Publish a cast about [topic]"
• "Show the latest casts from user [username]"
• "Search for casts about [topic]"
• "Show trending casts on Warpcast"
• "Show popular channels"
• "Get casts from the [channel] channel"

Advanced Usage

This MCP server provides several tools that Claude can utilize:

1. post-cast: Create a new cast on Warpcast (up to 320 characters).
2. get-user-casts: Get the recent casts of a specific user.
3. search-casts: Search for casts by keywords or phrases.
4. get-trending-casts: Get the currently trending casts.
5. get-all-channels: List all channels on Warpcast.
6. get-channel: Get information about a specific channel.
7. get-channel-casts: Get casts from a specific channel.
8. follow-channel: Follow a channel.
9. unfollow-channel: Unfollow a channel.

Notes

This server uses Warpcast's app key authentication method, which requires registering an Ed25519 key pair in your Farcaster account. The authentication process is as follows:

1. Create a header containing your FID and public key.
2. Create a payload with an expiration time.
3. Sign the header and payload using your private key.
4. Use the generated token for API calls. In a production application, it is recommended to use the official Farcaster SDK to generate authentication tokens.

Security Considerations

• Keep your private key secure and never disclose it.
• Consider rotating keys regularly.
• The server logs authentication errors to aid in debugging.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues:

1. Check if the environment variables are set correctly.
2. Ensure that your keys are successfully registered in your Farcaster account.
3. Check for any errors in the Claude for Desktop logs.
4. Verify that your Warpcast account has the necessary permissions.
