🚀 Jadx MCP Plugin —— Enabling Claude to Access Jadx Decompilation via MCP

This project offers a Jadx plugin written in Java. The plugin provides HTTP interface services through the Jadx API, allowing tools like Claude to achieve real-time interaction via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). A lightweight FastMCP adapter, written in Python, acts as a bridge between Claude and the plugin. This makes intelligent navigation and automated decompilation workflows possible, which is highly suitable for AI-assisted security analysis of Android applications.

📦 Installation

# Clone this repository

cd jadx-mcp-plugin

# Create and activate a virtual environment
python3 -m venv venv

# Activate:
source venv/bin/activate      # Linux/Mac

Install Python dependencies

pip install -r requirements.txt 

🧠 Integrate Claude MCP client tool configuration

To use this adapter in Claude Desktop, go to File -> Settings -> Developer -> Edit Config -> claude_desktop_config.json, and add an MCP server setting pointing to the Python virtual environment (to avoid dependency issues), then specify the full adapter path, as shown in the following examples:

After configuration, ensure that Jadx is up and running.

Basic Usage

1. Start Jadx: Open Jadx and load the target file.
2. Start Claude: Start Claude in another terminal and connect to Jadx's MCP server.
3. Use the tool: Invoke the decompilation function through the MCP interface provided by Claude.

🔧 Technical Details

Java Plugin Development

Automated Build

Use the Gradle script to automatically build the plugin:

./gradlew build

The build output is plugin/build/libs/jadx-mcp-plugin-<version>.jar

Manual Installation

Manually copy the generated JAR file to Jadx's plugins directory, usually at: ~/.jadx/plugins/

Then enable the plugin with the following command:

jadx plugins --enable jadx-mcp

Python FastMCP Adapter

File path:

fastmcp_adapter.py

This script converts Claude's MCP tool calls into HTTP POST requests to the running Jadx plugin server. Ensure that Jadx is started and open before starting Claude.
