A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides tools to fetch dependency information from Clojars, the Clojure project dependency repository for communities such as Cline, Roo Code, Cody, and Claude Desktop.

📦 Installation

Using npx

The quickest way to run the Clojars MCP server is via npx:

npx clojars-deps-server

You can also install it globally:

npm install -g clojars-deps-server

Using Smithery

To automatically install the Clojars dependency server for Claude Desktop via Smithery:

npx -y @smithery/cli install clojars-deps-server --client claude

Manual Installation

1. Clone this repository:

git clone https://github.com/yourusername/clojars-deps-server.git
cd clojars-deps-server

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Build the server:

npm run build

4. Add the server to Claude's configuration:

For the VSCode Claude plugin, add to cline_mcp_settings.json (usually located at ~/Library/Application Support/Code/User/globalStorage/saoudrizwan.claude-dev/settings/ on macOS):

After adding the server configuration, Claude will automatically detect and connect to the server upon startup. The server's functionality will be listed under the "Connected MCP Servers" section in Claude's system prompt, making it available for use.

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

When this MCP server is configured in Claude's settings, it automatically becomes available in the "Connected MCP Servers" section of Claude's system prompt. This makes Claude aware of the server's capabilities and allows it to use the provided tools via the use_mcp_tool command.

The server exposes two tools:
