🚀 IDA Pro MCP Server

This project provides an efficient and user - friendly MCP server solution for IDA Pro through automated installation and simplified development processes.

🚀 Quick Start

I created this IDA Pro MCP Server project mainly for the following reasons:

1. The installation process can be fully automated.
2. The architecture of other plugins makes it difficult to add new features quickly (too much boilerplate code).
3. It's really fun to learn new technologies!

📦 Installation

Installing new features is very simple and efficient. All you need to do is add a new @jsonrpc function in mcp-plugin.py, and the new feature will be available in the MCP server without any additional boilerplate code! Here is a video demonstration showing how to add the get_metadata feature in less than 2 minutes (including testing):

To test the MCP server itself, run the following command:

uv run mcp dev src/ida_pro_mcp/server.py

This will open a web interface at http://localhost:5173 and allow you to interact with the MCP tool.

For testing, I create a symbolic link for the IDA plugin and then send JSON - RPC requests directly to http://localhost:13337/mcp. After enabling symbolic links (refer to Microsoft Documentation), you can run the following command:

uv run ida-pro-mcp --install

To generate a changelog for direct commits to the main branch, run the following command:
