🚀 MCP Claude Spotify Project Guide

This project aims to integrate Spotify into the MCP system, allowing users to control Spotify music playback through simple commands.

The following steps will guide you through the installation, configuration, and usage of the MCP Claude Spotify project.

📦 Installation

Clone the Repository

Use Git to clone this repository:

git clone https://github.com/imprvhub/mcp-claude-spotify.git
cd mcp-claude-spotify

Install Dependencies

After entering the repository directory, install the project dependencies:

npm install

⚙️ Configuration

Create an Application

1. Visit Spotify Developer Dashboard
2. Click "Create Application"
3. Fill in the application information:
   • Application Name: Enter a name, e.g., MCP Claude Spotify
   • Description: Add an appropriate description
   • Redirect URI: Add at least one redirect URI, e.g., http://localhost:3000/callback (only for development environment)
4. After creating the application, record your Client ID and Client Secret.

Configure the Project

Create a .env file in the root directory of the repository and add the following content:

SPOTIFY_CLIENT_ID=your_client_id_here
SPOTIFY_CLIENT_SECRET=your_client_secret_here

💻 Usage Examples

Authenticate Spotify

Enter the following command in Claude Desktop to authenticate your Spotify account:

mcp spotify auth

Follow the prompts to complete the authorization process. After completion, a tokens.json file will be generated in the ~/.spotify-mcp directory to store access tokens and refresh tokens.
