🚀 Task Manager Guide

This task manager is designed to assist in task planning and tracking during the development process. Through integrated tools and API endpoints, it can effectively manage and monitor feature requests and their related tasks.

🚀 Quick Start

1. Download the codebase: Get the latest version from GitHub.
2. Install dependencies: Run npm install to install all necessary packages.
3. Configure environment variables:
   • Create a .env file and fill in appropriate values, such as database connection and API keys.
4. Start the service: Execute node index.js to start the task manager.

Mark a specific task as completed.

Download the Codebase

You can download the latest codebase from GitHub.

Install Dependencies

Use npm to install the required dependencies:

npm install

Configure Environment Variables

Create a .env file and add the following content:

Start the Service

Basic Usage

1. Start the service: Ensure that MongoDB is installed and running, then start the task manager:

node index.js

2. Access the front - end interface: Open your browser and visit http://localhost:3000.
3. Use the tools: Use the provided tools (plan_feature, mark_task_complete, etc.) to manage tasks and features as needed.

API Endpoints (for the front - end)

• GET /api/features: Return a list of all feature IDs.
• GET /api/tasks/:featureId: Return all tasks for a specific feature.
• GET /api/tasks: Return tasks for the most recently created or modified features.
• GET /api/features/:featureId/pending-question: Check if there are pending questions.
• POST /api/tasks: Create a new task.
• PUT /api/tasks/:taskId: Update an existing task.
• DELETE /api/tasks/:taskId: Delete a task.

Integration Guide

Integration with OpenAI

This task manager integrates OpenAI's API for automatic task decomposition and code review.

Configure OpenAI

Ensure that OPENAI_API_KEY is filled in the .env file:

Use OpenAI for Task Decomposition

When using the plan_feature tool, the system will automatically call OpenAI's API to generate a task list.

Integration with MongoDB

Data is stored in MongoDB, and the default connection string is mongodb://localhost:27017/taskdb. You can modify the DB_URL in the .env file to use other databases.

Security Guide

Data Encryption

All sensitive information (such as API keys) should be encrypted and stored, and should not appear in plain text in the code.

Authentication

It is recommended to enable authentication in the production environment to restrict access to API endpoints.
