Leveraging the ffmpeg command - line interface, it's incredibly convenient to implement an MCP server. This server enables functions such as local video search, editing, splicing, and playback through a dialog box.

This project uses the ffmpeg command - line to implement an MCP server, which provides a series of video processing functions.

✨ Features

The server implements the following tools:

• find_video_path
  • Parameters: Directory and file name. The file name can be a full name or without a suffix. It recursively searches the directory and returns the full path.
• get_video_info
  • Parameters: Video path. It returns video information, including duration, frame rate, encoder, width, and height.
• clip_video
  • Parameters: File path, start time, end time, and duration. It returns the path of the clipped file.
• concat_videos
  • Parameters: File list and output path. If the video elements (such as aspect ratio, frame rate, etc.) in the file list are consistent, it automatically uses the fast - mode synthesis.
• play_video
  • It uses ffplay to play videos/audio and supports multiple formats, such as mov/mp4/avi/mkv/3gp. Parameters include video path, playback speed, and loop times.
• overlay_video
  • Overlay two videos.
    • background_video: Path of the background video.
    • overlay_video: Path of the foreground video.
    • output_path: Path of the output video.
    • position: Relative position.
    • dx: x offset.
    • dy: y offset.
• scale_video
  • Scale the video.
    • video_path: Input video path.
    • width: Output video width. - 2 means maintaining the aspect ratio.
    • height: Output video height. - 2 means maintaining the aspect ratio.
    • output_path: Output video path.

⚠️ Important Note

The value /Users/XXX/Downloads/ffmpeg in args needs to be replaced with the actual directory where ffmpeg - mcp is downloaded.
