The LPS MCP server is crafted to empower Claude with advanced tools, offering secure file system access and logical reasoning capabilities. Here's a quick guide to get you started:

Prerequisites

• Python 3.10 or higher
• UV (Python package manager) installed and added to the system PATH
• The latest version of Claude Desktop installed

Installation

1. Install UV (if not already installed):

   # For Windows (PowerShell):
   powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.ps1 | iex"
   
   # For macOS/Linux:
   curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh
   

2. Verify UV installation:

   uv --version
   

3. Clone or download this repository:

   git clone https://github.com/lpsDevelopers/LPS-MCP
   cd mcp-lps
   

4. Install dependencies:

   uv pip install "mcp[cli]"
   

Configuration and Integration with Claude Desktop

1. Open the settings interface of Claude Desktop (Menu Bar → Settings → Developers → Edit Configuration).

2. Add the following content to the claude_desktop_config.json file:

   ⚠️ Important Note

   Replace path/to/LPS-MCP with the actual absolute path where you store the server.py file. The last parameter is the target directory allowed for access (you can add multiple directories, separated by commas).

   💡 Usage Tip

   To enhance the server's security, the Chinese content filtering module is enabled by default.

3. Restart Claude Desktop for the configuration to take effect.

Operation Guide

1. Start the server:

   uv run mcp --directory /path/to/your/directory
   

2. Access the server:
   • Connect to the specified server instance through the MCP service manager in Claude Desktop.
3. Use the tools:
   • Enter the corresponding commands in Claude's console to invoke the functional modules provided by the server.
