🚀 Creating an MCP Server

A CLI tool for setting up a Model Control Protocol (MCP) server and deploying it to Cloudflare Workers. It allows you to start developing new tools for your Cursor Agent within minutes.

Simply write TypeScript functions with JSDoc comments to endow your agent's MCP tools with new capabilities.

🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Installed and logged in to the Wrangler CLI and a Cloudflare account.
• Installed the Claude desktop application. (To be removed soon)

Usage Instructions

To create and deploy a new MCP server, simply run:

bun create mcp

You can also pass a name directly when executing the command: bun create mcp --name <Server Name>.

Features of this CLI Tool

• Clone the template worker repository to <Current Directory>/<Server Name>
• Install dependencies
• Initialize a Git repository
• Deploy an MCP server with a "Hello World" message to your Cloudflare account
• Add it to the Claude desktop application
• Copy the MCP server command to the clipboard for you to paste into Cursor

How to Use

Just add functions to the MyWorker class in the src/index.ts file. Each function will be compiled into an MCP tool.

For example:

    return `From the MCP worker, ${name}!`;

• The first line is the description of the tool.
• The @param tag represents the tool's parameters, their types, and descriptions.
• The @return tag represents the tool's return value and its type.

Deploying Changes

1. Redeploy the worker:

bun run deploy

2. Refresh your Cursor window.

Now, you can let the agent use the new tools!

Why Choose Cloudflare Workers?

It has a great atmosphere, an excellent development experience, and fast deployment.

I don't like running the MCP server locally, and I believe you don't either. Nowadays, we can use simple MCP tools in Cursor to call APIs without running a Node.js process.

All you need to do is write functions. Put the descriptions and parameters in the JSDoc comments, and you're all set.
