An MCP server created for the Rootly API. You can integrate it into compatible MCP editors such as Cursor, Windsurf, and Claude. Resolve production issues in less than a minute without leaving your IDE.

Prerequisites

• Python 3.12 or higher
• uv package manager

• Rootly API Token

Running in IDE

Install via our PyPi package or clone this repository.

To set it up in your favorite MCP-compatible editor (we've tested Cursor and Windsurf), use the following configuration:

✨ Features

This server dynamically generates MCP resources based on Rootly's OpenAPI (Swagger) specification:

• Dynamically generate MCP tools according to Rootly's OpenAPI specification
• Default pagination (10 items per page) to prevent context window overflow
• Limit the number of API paths exposed to AI agents

We limit the number of accessible paths for two reasons:

• Context size: Since Rootly's API is very rich, AI agents may be overwhelmed and unable to perform simple operations correctly. Currently, we only expose /incidents and /incidents/{incident_id}/alerts.
• Security: If you want to limit the type of information or operations users can access through the MCP server

If you want to make more paths available, edit the allowed_paths variable in src/rootly_mcp_server/server.py.
