📦 Installation

This project requires ClamAV to be installed on your system. Here's how to install it:

Ubuntu/Debian

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install clamav clamav-daemon

Windows

1. Download the ClamAV installer from ClamAV's official website.
2. Run the installer and follow the setup wizard.
3. Make sure to add ClamAV to the system PATH.

macOS

brew install clamav

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

To run the MCP server:

uv run mcp run main.py -t sse

After the server starts, it will listen for SSE connections on port 8000 by default.

Advanced Usage

To use this MCP with Cursor, add the following configuration to your Cursor settings:

This configuration tells Cursor to connect to the ClamAV MCP server.

API

The MCP provides one endpoint:

scan_file

• Parameters:
  • base64_data: A Base64-encoded string of the file to be scanned.
  • filename: The filename to be used in the scan.
• Returns:
  • success: A boolean indicating whether the scan was successful.
  • result: The raw output of the clamscan command.
  • error: An error message if the scan fails.
