This project uses the D programming language and the mcp package library to build an MCP server (example implementation) for generating UUIDs.

✨ Features

• Provides the generate_uuid tool, which can generate a specified number of UUIDs.
• By default, it generates 1 UUID, and it supports generating up to 100 UUIDs.

📦 Installation

Steps to run locally

1. Add the project as a local package:

   dub add-local .
   

2. Run the server:

   dub run -q mcp-generate-uuid-server
   

Steps to set up as an MCP server

Ensure that you can use the dub run command to run the server. The -q option is used to suppress the additional output of the dub run command.

Steps to create an MCP project

To create an MCP project similar to this one, follow these steps:

1. Create a new project using DUB:

   dub init mcp-generate-uuid-server
   

2. Add the necessary dependencies. Add the following dependencies to the dub.sdl file (or use the dub add mcp command):

   dependency "mcp" version="~>1.0.0"
   

3. Write the project code in source/app.d.

   • Use the addTool method to add the UUID generation tool.
     • Specify the tool name.
     • Add a tool description.
     • Define the tool call scheme.
     • Implement the actual logic of the tool (a method that receives JSONValue and returns JSONValue).
