MCP Untappd Server

🚀 Untappd Model Context Protocol Server

This is a simple MCP server written in node for querying the Untappd API. Unfortunately, they no longer accept new API key registrations.

Currently, only the following three tools are supported:

• search_beer: This function searches for beers on Untappd.
• get_beer_info: This function retrieves detailed beer information using the beer_id obtained from the search.
• get_user_checkins: Currently unavailable This function would return a user's check - in records.

📦 Installation

To use it with Claude Desktop, add the server configuration:

On MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

Install dependencies:

npm install

Build the server:

npm run build

Develop with automatic rebuild:

npm run watch

Advanced Usage

Debugging

Since MCP servers communicate via stdio, debugging can be challenging. We recommend using MCP Inspector, which is available as a package script:

npm run inspector

The Inspector will provide a URL to access the debugging tools in the browser.
