What is Next.js?

Next.js is a React-based framework for building modern web applications with server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG). It provides out-of-the-box features such as routing, API routing, and CSS support.

How to use Next.js?

Quickly create a project using the create-next-app scaffolding, then start development by running the development server. The project uses file system routing, and page files placed in the app directory will automatically generate corresponding routes.

Use cases

Suitable for scenarios such as marketing pages that require SEO optimization, content-based websites, e-commerce platforms, and web applications that need fast loading.

Main Features

File System Routing
No need to configure routes, the file system automatically generates the routing structure
Server Components
Use React server components by default to reduce the size of client-side JavaScript
Built-in Optimized Fonts
Automatically optimize and load font resources through next/font
API Routing
Create API endpoints in the app directory without additional server configuration
Advantages
Out-of-the-box SSR and SSG support
Excellent development experience and fast refresh
Automatic code splitting and optimization
Seamless deployment on the Vercel platform
Limitations
Additional configuration is required for some specific backend integrations
The learning curve is slightly steeper than that of pure React applications
Some advanced features require an understanding of the underlying principles

How to Use

Create a New Project
Initialize a project using the create-next-app scaffolding
Start the Development Server
Enter the project directory and start the development server
Edit Pages
Modify the app/page.tsx file to update the content of the home page

Usage Examples

Create a Marketing Page
Leverage the static site generation feature to quickly build high-performance marketing pages
Build a Blog System
Build an SEO-friendly blog in combination with a content management system
