This is a weather server based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It uses the QWeather and Seniverse weather APIs to provide weather data, supporting failover and prioritizing the fastest response.

📦 Installation

# Clone the repository

Obtain API Keys

QWeather API

1. Visit QWeather Developer Service.
2. Register an account and create an application.
3. Get the API Key in the console.

Seniverse API

1. Visit Seniverse Developer Service.
2. Register an account and create an application.
3. Get the API Key in the console.

Development

# Build the project
npm run build

# Watch mode (automatically rebuild)
npm run watch

Run the Server

npm start

MCP Mode Explanation

This server only supports running in Model Context Protocol (MCP) mode and does not provide HTTP server functionality. MCP is a protocol designed specifically for large language models, allowing models to interact with external tools and resources.

Features of the MCP Server

• Communicate with clients using standard input/output (stdio).
• Provide resources and tools for large language models.
• Support structured data exchange and error handling.

Available Resources

• weather://{city} - Get the current weather for a specified city.

Available Tools

• getCurrentWeather - Get the current weather for a specified city.
• getForecast - Get the weather forecast for a specified city (supports 1 - 7 days).

Then access http://localhost:5173 in your browser.

Failover Mechanism

This server uses multiple weather API sources simultaneously:

1. First, send requests to QWeather and Seniverse in parallel.
2. Adopt the API result that returns the response first.
3. If an API fails, it will automatically switch to the backup API.
4. Support data for minimum/maximum temperature, humidity, and wind speed.
