This is a simple server example demonstrating how to use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) Swift SDK to communicate via standard input and output (stdio). This setup is compatible with applications like Claude Desktop.

🚀 Quick Start

Running the Echo Server

1. Clone this repository:

git clone https://github.com/devyhan/mcp-swift-example-server.git
cd mcp-swift-example-server

2. Build the server:

swift build -c release

This will generate an executable file located at .build/release/macros-mcp-example-server. Note the full path of this executable file.

Configuring Claude Desktop

To use this server in Claude Desktop, add it to your Claude Desktop configuration file (claude_desktop_config.json). The location of this file may vary depending on the operating system.

Add the following content to the mcpServers object, replacing /PATH/TO/YOUR/SERVER/ with the actual absolute path of the server directory on your system:
