This is an MCP server that can fetch package documentation from various language ecosystems for use by large language models like Claude, without the need for an API key.

🚀 Installation

Install on Claude Desktop

1. Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Developer.
2. Click "Edit Configuration" and add:

Configure in Cursor IDE

1. Open Cursor IDE → Settings → MCP → Add a new MCP server.
2. Add:

    Name: docsFetcher
    Command: npx -y @smithery/cli@latest run @cdugo/mcp-get-docs --config "{}"

Prerequisites

• 📋 Node.js 18 or higher.

🏃‍♂️ Run Locally

git clone https://github.com/cdugo/package-documentation-mcp
cd package-documentation-mcp
npm install
npm run build

After installation, you can start the server with the following command:

npm start

The environment variable PORT can be used to specify the service port, with the default being 3000.
