🚀 Model-context-protocol (MCP) Server Using Microsoft Graph API

This project provides an MCP server that utilizes the Microsoft Graph API, enabling seamless integration with various MCP clients.

✨ Prerequisites

Entra ID Application

1. Register a new Entra ID application.
2. Add and grant at least the User.Read.All application permission. Additional permissions can be added as needed.
3. Create a new client secret.

Claude Desktop App

• I'm using the Claude Desktop App, but you can also use any other MCP client that supports a local MCP server, including GitHub Copilot (if permitted).

📦 Installation

MCP Server Configuration

1. Open and build the solution.
2. Open the claude_desktop_config.json file. On Windows, this file is located in the %APPDATA%\Claude\ folder.
3. Specify the path to the project folder in the args section. Remember to fill in the Entra ID application information in the env section, including the tenant ID, client ID, and client secret.

By default, the Microsoft Graph global service is used. You can change this setting by modifying the NATIONAL_CLOUD environment variable.

💻 Usage Examples

Running the MCP Server

1. Open the Claude Desktop app, and the MCP server will be automatically discovered and run.
2. If the app was already open, you need to close it (exit from the system tray) and then reopen it to recognize the new configuration.

⚠️ Important Note

If there are any issues, check the log files in the %APPDATA%\Claude\logs folder.
