A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides secure access to Twitter features, implemented through the agent-twitter-client library.

🚀 Quick Start

1. Clone the repository.
2. Install dependencies:

   npm install
   

3. Start the server:

   node index.js

  • Fetch a specific tweet by ID.
  • Obtain tweets posted by a user.

  • Search for tweets.
  • Search for profiles.

• Relationship Operations

  • Get the list of followers of a user.
  • Get the list of users a user is following.
  • Follow a user.

⚠️ Important Note

⚠️ Important Note: Protect Your Twitter Credentials

This MCP server requires Twitter credentials to operate. To safeguard these sensitive credentials:

1. Never share your credentials.
2. Never execute commands that display your credentials.
3. Never allow an LLM to directly execute shell commands without approval.

Multi - layer Security Protection

This server implements several security measures to protect your credentials:

1. Credential Isolation

• Your credentials are only loaded during initialization.
• After loading, the credentials are immediately removed from the environment variables.
• Credentials are never logged or transmitted to the LLM.

2. Memory Protection

• Use sodium-native for secure memory allocation.
• Lock memory to prevent swapping to disk.
• Clear memory buffers after use.

3. Access Control

• Secure environment variable handling.
• Strict validation of required environment variables.
• Sanitize console output to prevent credential leakage.

Environment Variable Requirements

• TWITTER_API_KEY: The API key for the Twitter API.
• TWITTER_API_SECRET_KEY: The secret key for the Twitter API.
• TWITTER_ACCESS_TOKEN: The access token.
• TWITTER_ACCESS_TOKEN_SECRET: The secret for the access token.

Development Notes

When developing the MCP server, use console.error() instead of console.log() for all debugging and logging. The MCP protocol communicates with the client via stdout, so any console.log() statements will interfere with this communication.
