This is an azd template for a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server written in TypeScript. It is deployed to Azure Container Apps and uses Server-Sent Events (SSE) for data transmission.

✨ Prerequisites

To deploy this template, you need to install the following tools:

• Azure Developer CLI
• Docker

📦 Deployment Steps

Use the Azure Developer CLI to deploy this template by following these steps:

1. Log in to the Azure Developer CLI. This is a necessary step after each installation.

   azd auth login
   

2. Initialize this template using the azd init command:

   azd init --template powergentic/azd-mcp-ts
   

3. Ensure that the Docker engine is running on your machine. This is required for azd to package the application image and deploy it to Azure Container Apps.

4. Use the azd up command to configure the Azure infrastructure and deploy the web application to Azure:

   azd up
   

5. After the template has provisioned all resources and the Azure Container App has deployed the app container (it may take a few minutes to complete after azd up finishes), the MCP server will start running.

6. Verify that the MCP server is running. Navigate to the application's /sse URL in your browser. Example URL:

   https://ca-mcp-vnv7lqmg46722.bravebeach-29a82758.eastus2.azurecontainerapps.io/sse
   

   This will open a streaming output page showing an interface similar to the following:

7. Congratulations! You have now successfully run a simple MCP server on Azure. You can customize this application as needed to build a dedicated MCP server for your AI solutions.
