Arxiv Latex MCP

🚀 arXiv-latex MCP Server

An MCP server that enables Claude Desktop, Cursor, or other MCP clients to directly access and process arXiv papers by retrieving their LaTeX source code. The server uses arxiv-to-prompt to download and process LaTeX from arXiv.

Why use LaTeX source code instead of uploading PDFs? Many PDF chat applications often struggle when dealing with math content and equation-heavy papers. By leveraging the original LaTeX source code of arXiv papers, LLMs can accurately understand and process formulas and symbols. This approach is particularly valuable in fields such as computer science, mathematics, and engineering, which require precise interpretation of mathematical expressions.

📦 Installation

Add the following configuration to your configuration file:

You may need to replace the command field with the full path to uv. Check it by running which uv (MacOS/Linux) or where uv (Windows).

Save the changes and restart the application.

For Claude Desktop, click the hammer icon, and get_paper_prompt should appear in the "Available MCP Tools" list.
