🚀 How to Run the Project Locally

1️⃣ Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/your-username/mcp-server-tester.git
cd mcp-server-tester

2️⃣ Install dependencies

npm install

3️⃣ Start the back - end

node server.js

The back - end will run at http://localhost:3000

4️⃣ Open the front - end

Open the index.html file in your browser. Or use the Live Server plugin in VS Code to run it.

📌 How the Project Works

1️⃣ Enter a valid MCP server URL (e.g., from Smithery). 2️⃣ Click "Test MCP Server". 3️⃣ The application sends a request to the back - end (Node.js running on Render). 4️⃣ The back - end checks the MCP server and returns a response. 5️⃣ The results are displayed on the web page.

⚠️ Troubleshooting

⚠️ Important Note

If you see "Cannot GET /", make sure the back - end has a / route:

app.get("/", (req, res) => res.send("MCP Server Tester back - end is running!"));

If the front - end shows "Unexpected token '<'", it may indicate that the back - end is down. Check the error messages in the Render logs.

If "Fetch failed" appears, make sure the back - end URL in script.js is correct:

• Back - end:
