The MCP Server is a straightforward server that implements the Model Context Protocol (MCP), offering a more concise API for interacting with the Model Context Protocol.

🤔 Why Use This Server?

At "La Rebelion", we're developing a suite of tools and services to simplify processes and workflows, thereby enhancing the developer experience. This server is part of our toolset.

The MCP is incredibly powerful, but it can be a bit complex for newcomers. We've created a Facade to streamline the process of creating a server that implements the Model Context Protocol from scratch. The pattern is simple: you need to create tools with your own logic, then register the tools and start the server.

🛠️ Steps to Create a New Server

In the future, we'll provide a CLI tool to quickly create new servers (similar to MCP create server). For now, you can follow these steps to create a server based on the guide in the official documentation:

mkdir -p my-server/src
cd my-server/
yarn init -y
yarn add @modelcontextprotocol/sdk zod zod-to-json-schema
yarn add -D @types/node typescript

yarn add @agentico/mcp-server

You'll need to update the package.json file and create a tsconfig.json file.

🚀 Quick Start

Implement tools with your custom logic and register them in the MCPServer. Here's a simple example of an echo tool:

To run the example, install the following dependencies:

📁 Project Structure

By default, the MCPServer looks for tools in the current directory. The default locations for the package.json and tsconfig.json files are as follows:
