What is the DeepSeek MCP-like Server?

This is an experimental project that simulates the core functions of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) proposed by Anthropic. It allows users to interact with an AI assistant through natural language, and the AI can understand and execute terminal commands, enabling intelligent command-line operations.

How to use this service?

Through a simple web chat interface, you can enter requests just like chatting with a regular AI. When the AI determines that a terminal command needs to be executed, it will automatically process it and return the result.

Applicable scenarios

Suitable for developers to quickly complete repetitive command-line tasks, system administrators for remote management, and any users who want to simplify complex command-line operations through natural language.

Main features

Chat-style interaction
Provides an intuitive web chat interface for users to communicate with the AI through natural language
Terminal command execution
The AI can recognize and execute commands starting with 'CMD:', which run in a persistent Bash session
MCP protocol endpoints
Provides /mcp/list_tools and /mcp/call_tool endpoints to support tool discovery and invocation
Advantages
No need to memorize complex commands; terminal operations can be completed with natural language
Maintains the command execution context and supports multi-step complex operations
Open source and easy to expand, allowing customization of functions according to requirements
Limitations
Currently a proof-of-concept version with incomplete functionality
Limited security considerations; not recommended for use in a production environment
Depends on the DeepSeek API and requires a valid API key

How to use

Installation preparation
Ensure that Python 3.8+ and pip are installed on the system, and clone the project repository
Set up the environment
Create and activate a virtual environment, and install the dependency packages
Configure the API key
Set your DeepSeek API key in the.env file
Start the service
Run the server script and access port 5000 locally

Usage examples

File management
Manage the file system through natural language
System monitoring
Quickly obtain system status information
