🚀 Quick Start

Installation

Claude Desktop Setup

1. Install Claude Desktop

   • Download Claude Desktop.
   • Ensure you are using the latest version (Menu: Claude -> Check for Updates...).

2. Configure the MCP Server

🛠️ Available Tools

search_memo

Search for notes using keywords.

Parameters:

• key_word (string): The keyword to search for in the note content.
• state (string, optional): The state of the note (Default: "NORMAL", can also be "ARCHIVED").

create_memo

Create a new note.

Parameters:

• content (string): The content of the note.
• visibility (string, optional): The visibility setting (Default: "PRIVATE", Options: "PUBLIC", "PROTECTED", "PRIVATE").
• tags (array of strings, optional): The list of tags for the note.

get_memo

Retrieve a specific note by ID.

Parameters:

• name (string): The note name, in the format memos/{id} or just the numeric ID.

get_user

Get the current user information.

Basic Usage

# Use search_memo to search for notes
npx memos-mcp-server search_memo --key_word "example"

Advanced Usage

# Create a new public note with tags
npx memos-mcp-server create_memo --content "This is a new note." --visibility "PUBLIC" --tags "example, test"

🧪 Development

This project uses TypeScript and the FastMCP framework for MCP server development.

Setup

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Copy the example environment file and set environment variables
cp .env.example .env
# Edit the .env file to configure the Memos API details

Development Mode

npm run dev

Build

npm run build

Run in Production

npm start

Test with mcp-cli

The quickest way to test and debug your server is to use mcp-cli:

npx fastmcp dev src/server.ts

This is a fast way to test and debug your MCP server in the terminal using mcp-cli.

Check with MCP Inspector

You can also use the official MCP Inspector to check your server via the Web UI:

npx fastmcp inspect src/server.ts
