🚀 Quick Start

This project involves copying code from https://github.com/Zhwt/go-mcp-mysql/ and leveraging AI to switch the database from MySQL to PostgreSQL. You can directly use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to interact with Postgres and its automation features without any burden. There's no need for a Node.js or Python environment. This server provides CRUD operation tools for Postgres databases and tables and offers a read - only mode to prevent accidental write operations. You can also add the --with-explain-check flag to make the MCP server use the EXPLAIN statement to check the query plan before executing a query.

Please note that this is still a work - in - progress project and may not be ready for production use.

📦 Installation

1. Get the latest release and place it in your $PATH or another easily accessible location.

2. If you have Go installed, you can build directly from the source code:

go install -v github.com/guoling2008/go-mcp-postgres@latest

Database Connection

• --dsn or -d: Specify the database connection string.
