This project is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides access to Bear Notes.

Bear uses an SQLite database to store notes. This MCP server runs some SQL commands to access these notes. https://bear.app/faq/where-are-bears-notes-located

📦 Installation

# Clone the project
git clone https://github.com/akseyh/bear-mcp-server

# Change the directory
cd bear-mcp-server

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Build the project
npm run build

📚 Configuration for Claude Desktop

Update your claude_desktop_config.json file:

Once the server is started, the following MCP tools will be available:

• get_notes: Retrieve all notes
• get_tags: List all tags
• get_notes_like: Search for notes containing specific text

🔧 Requirements

• Node.js
• Bear note-taking application (macOS)
• Permission to access the Bear database
