📦 Installation

Step 1: Create a Discord Application and Bot

1. Visit the Discord Developer Portal.
2. Click "New Application" and give it a name.
3. Navigate to the "Bot" section in the left sidebar.
4. In the bot's token section, click "Reset Token" and copy the new token.
   • ⚠️ Important Note: Keep this token secure! Do not share it publicly.
5. In "Privileged Gateway Intents", enable:
   • Message Content Intent
   • Server Members Intent
   • Presence Intent

Step 2: Invite the Bot to Your Server

1. Go to the "OAuth2" section in the left sidebar.
2. Select "URL Generator".
3. Under "Scopes", select:
   • bot
   • applications.commands
4. Under "Bot Permissions", select:
   • Send Messages
   • Embed Links
   • Read Message History
5. Copy the generated URL and open it in your browser.
6. Select your server and authorize the bot.

Step 3: Obtain the Channel ID

1. In Discord, enable Developer Mode:
   • Go to User Settings > App Settings > Advanced.
   • Enable "Developer Mode".
2. Right - click on the channel you want to use.
3. Click "Copy Channel ID".

Step 4: Configure MCP Settings

The server needs to be configured in your MCP settings file. Add the following to your configuration file:

Replace:

• /ABSOLUTE/PATH/TO/MCP Relay with the actual path to your MCP Relay project.
• your_bot_token_here with your own Discord bot token.
• your_channel_id_here with the Discord channel ID you've selected.

⚠️ Important Note: Make sure to use absolute paths in the configuration.

The server provides a tool named send-message, which accepts the following parameters:

Basic Usage

Notification

A simple message that doesn't require a reply.

⚠️ Important Note

• The maximum length of the message content is 32,768 bytes.
• Supported file types include but are not limited to: PDF, DOCX, PPTX, ZIP, PNG, JPG, etc.
