What is MCP Calendar Server?

MCP Calendar Server is a middleware service that retrieves calendar events through the Google Calendar API and pushes them in real-time to the n8n automation platform via Server-Sent Events (SSE) technology, enabling automated workflow triggering.

How to use MCP Calendar Server?

Simply complete the Google OAuth authorization configuration. After deploying the service, you can receive calendar events in n8n through a dedicated node.

Use cases

Suitable for scenarios that require triggering automated processes based on calendar events, such as automatic handling of meeting reminders, integration of reservation systems, and team schedule coordination.

Main features

Real-time event push
Achieve real-time push of calendar events through SSE technology, with a latency of less than 1 second
Google OAuth integration
Support the standard OAuth 2.0 authorization process to ensure account security
Native n8n support
Provide a dedicated n8n node package (n8n-nodes-mcp) for out-of-the-box use
Advantages
Lightweight design with low resource consumption
Containerized deployment based on Docker for easy installation
No need to maintain a database, directly connect to the Google API
Limitations
Only support Google Calendar
Require Google Cloud project configuration permissions
The free version of the Google API has a limit on the number of calls

How to use

Create a Google Cloud project
Visit the Google Cloud Console to create a new project and enable the Calendar API
Configure OAuth credentials
Create an OAuth client ID of the web application type on the Credentials page and set the correct redirect_uri
Deploy the service
Deploy the service through a Docker platform such as Easypanel and set environment variables
n8n configuration
Install the n8n-nodes-mcp package in n8n, add the MCP Calendar node and configure the endpoint URL

Usage examples

Automatic meeting minutes
When an event with the keyword 'meeting' appears in the calendar, automatically create a Notion meeting minutes page
Reservation confirmation
After a customer makes a reservation through Calendly, automatically send a confirmation email and SMS reminder
