How to use MCPMonkey?

The usage is divided into two steps: 1) Configure the MCP server in Cursor. 2) Install the browser extension. After completion, AI tools can help you manage browser tabs, analyze page styles, etc. through natural language commands.

How to use

Add an MCP server in Cursor

Find the MCP Servers option in Cursor's settings and add a new server. You can use the npx command or manually build and run it.

Install the browser extension

Load the temporary extension in Firefox through about:debugging, or wait for the officially released.xpi installation package.

Start using

After the configuration is completed, Cursor's Agent will automatically provide MCP tool support in relevant scenarios.

📦 Installation

Browser Extension Development

Install Node.js and Yarn v1.x. Ensure that the Node.js version matches the "node" key in package.json.

Then load the extension from the 'dist/' directory.

🔧 Technical Details

The currently implemented technical components are:

WebSocket Communication: The extension and the server communicate internally via WebSocket on port 3025.
Content Script Bridging: Allows interaction with web page content through secure messaging.
Zod Schema Validation: Ensures data integrity through runtime type checking.
Standard Input/Output Transmission: External MCP clients connect via standard input/output.
