🚀 Quick Start

Gmail and Google Calendar MCP Server

The integration of Gmail and Google Calendar enables Claude to interact with your Gmail account and Google Calendar, facilitating email management and calendar operations.

• Gmail Operations:

  • Retrieve the latest emails from the inbox.
  • Search for emails using Gmail query syntax.

📦 Installation

1. Prerequisites:

   • Python 3.x
   • The MCP package installed
   • Gmail and Calendar APIs enabled in a Google Cloud Console project

2. OAuth Credentials:

   • Access the Google Cloud Console.
   • Create a new project or select an existing one.
   • Enable the Gmail API and Google Calendar API.
   • Create OAuth 2.0 credentials.
   • Download the credentials and save them as credentials.json in the project directory.

3. Installation Commands:

   # Install required packages
   pip install google-auth-oauthlib google-auth-httplib2 google-api-python-client
   
   # Install the server in Claude Desktop
   mcp install server.py
   

4. First Run:

   • Start the server: mcp run server.py.
   • The first run will prompt for OAuth authentication.
   • Follow the browser link to authorize the application.
   • The token will be saved for future use.

Calendar Tools

• search_events(query: str, max_results: int = 10, time_min: Optional[str]): Search for calendar events.
• create_calendar_event(summary: str, start_time: str, end_time: str, description: Optional[str], location: Optional[str]): Create a new calendar event.
