📦 Installation

Prerequisites

The MCP server relies on Astral UV to run. Please install it first.

Add a global rule to help Windsurf call the tool. Create or modify the ~/.codeium/windsurf/memories/global_rules.md Markdown file. Add the following content or something similar:

When I ask you to modify existing code, please try to run the get-impact MCP tool for the provided code and any methods or functions being changed. Ensure that the results returned from the tool highlight the impact of the given method or function.

After adding the configuration, restart Windsurf IDE or refresh the tool to apply the changes.

Version Pinning

Instead of using the latest version of the MCP server, you can pin the version by changing the args field to correspond to a specific version on pypi, for example:

💻 Usage Examples

Running Unit Tests

The project uses unittest for testing. You can run unit tests without any external dependencies:

python -m unittest discover -s test -p "unit_*.py"

Unit tests use mock data and do not require a connection to the CodeLogic server.

Integration Tests (Optional)

If you want to run integration tests that connect to the actual CodeLogic server:

1. Install the requests package:

   pip install requests
   

2. Run the following command in the terminal:

   python -m unittest discover -s test -p "integration_*.py" --verbose
   

These tests will connect to the actual CodeLogic server and require valid credentials. Please ensure that you have set the CODELOGIC_SERVER_HOST, CODELOGIC_USERNAME, and CODELOGIC_PASSWORD environment variables.
