Install via Smithery

Automatically install the Linear Integration Server for Claude Desktop through Smithery:

Manual Installation

1. Create or obtain a Linear API key for your team: https://linear.app/YOUR-TEAM/settings/api

2. Add the server configuration to Claude Desktop:

1. linear_create_issue: Create a new Linear issue

   • Required parameters:
     • title (string): Issue title
     • teamId (string): ID of the team where the issue will be created
   • Optional parameters:
     • description (string): Issue description (supports Markdown)
     • priority (number, 0 - 4): Priority level (1 = Urgent, 4 = Low)
     • status (string): Initial status name

2. linear_update_issue: Update an existing issue

   • Required parameters:
     • id (string): ID of the issue to be updated
   • Optional parameters:
     • title (string): New title
     • description (string): New description
     • priority (number): New priority
     • status (string): New status name

3. linear_search_issues: Search for issues using flexible filters

   • Optional parameters:
     • query (string): Text to search in the title/description
     • teamId (string): Filter by team
     • status (string): Filter by status
     • assigneeId (string): Filter by assignee
     • labels (array of strings): Filter by labels
     • priority (number): Filter by priority
     • limit (number, default is 10): Maximum number of results

4. linear_get_user_issues: Get issues assigned to a user

   • Optional parameters:
     • userId (string): User ID (omit to indicate the authenticated user)
     • includeArchived (boolean): Include archived issues
     • limit (number, default is 50): Maximum number of results

5. linear_add_comment: Add a comment to an issue

   • Required parameters:
     • issueId (string): ID of the issue to comment on
     • body (string): Comment content (supports Markdown)
   • Optional parameters:
     • createAsUser (string): Create the comment as which user
     • anonymous (boolean): Whether to be anonymous

1. Install dependencies:

npm install

2. Configure the Linear API key in .env:

LINEAR_API_KEY=your_api_key_here

3. Build the server:

npm run build

For automatic rebuilding during development:

npm run watch
