📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Python version 3.11 or higher
• uv for dependency management
• A Slack workspace with administrator privileges
• Access to the OpenAI API
• At least one MCP server

Installation Steps

1. Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/yourusername/slack-mcp-host.git
cd slack-mcp-host

2. Create and activate a virtual environment

uv venv
source .venv/bin/activate  # For Windows, use: .venv\Scripts\activate

3. Install dependencies

uv sync

4. Configure the environment

cp .env.example .env

Edit the .env file and fill in your credentials:

5. Create a Slack app

• Visit api.slack.com/apps
• Click "Create New App" → "From an app manifest"
• Select your workspace
• Copy and paste the contents of the manifest.yml file
• Create and install the app to your workspace

Deployment

Cloudflare Workers

1. Install Wrangler

npm install -g wrangler

2. Log in to Cloudflare

wrangler login

3. Set secrets

wrangler secret put SLACK_API_KEY
wrangler secret put OPENAI_API_KEY

4. Deploy

wrangler deploy

5. Update Slack app configuration

• Visit your Slack app settings
• Update the Cloudflare Workers configuration, specifying slask-mcp-worker as the main service, and set the corresponding routes and domain names
