PostgreSQL Server

• Introduction: The PostgreSQL server allows connections to multiple PostgreSQL database instances via the Model Context Protocol.
• Main Tools:

  • analytics: Used for analytics database connections, supporting SSL encryption.

Obsidian Server

📦 Installation

PostgreSQL Server Setup

1. Navigate to the PostgreSQL MCP directory:

cd postgresql - mcp

2. Install dependencies and build:

npm install
npm run build

3. The built file is located at build/index.js.

Obsidian Server Setup

1. Install the Local REST API plugin in Obsidian:

• Open Obsidian settings → Community plugins.
• Browse and install the "Local REST API" plugin.
• Enable the plugin and copy the API key.

2. Navigate to the Obsidian MCP directory:

cd obsidian - mcp

3. Install the package in development mode:

pip install -e .

4. Set the API key in the .env file or MCP configuration.

n8n Server Setup

1. Set up the n8n instance and create an API key:

• Log in to the n8n instance.
• Go to Settings → API, create a new API key and copy it.

2. Navigate to the n8n MCP directory:

cd n8n - mcp

3. Install dependencies and build:

npm install
npm run build

4. Set the n8n URL and API key in the .env file or MCP configuration.

Debugging Instructions

Log Files

• PostgreSQL MCP: The log file is located at build/logs/postgres.log.
• Obsidian MCP: The log file is located at obsidian_mcp/log/server.log.
• n8n MCP: The log file is located at n8n_mcp/build/n8n.log.

Using MCP Inspector

1. Check the PostgreSQL server:

node inspector.js http://localhost:3000

2. Check the Obsidian server:

python -m obsidian_mcp.inspector

3. Check the n8n server:

node inspector.js http://localhost:3002

⚠️ Important Note

• Credential Protection: Ensure that all database credentials and API keys are passed only through environment variables and avoid hard - coding them in the code.
• Network Isolation: It is recommended to deploy the MCP servers in a trusted network environment and restrict external access.
• Regular Updates: Update the server software in a timely manner to prevent known security vulnerabilities.
